Most people’s bucket lists feature viewing the Northern Lights. Their rare occurrences and dependence on multiple factors do make it an once-in-a-lifetime experience, but this was my third viewing of the lights and it occurred during my dog sledging trip near the Norway-Russia border in Northern Norway. They offer night time dog sledging trips out of Kirkenes that one can take to view the lights. I was able to witness this display of lights in the sky for close to two hours. Unfortunately this incidence did not include the various colors as one may be able to view, but the thrill of sitting on a sledge, with excited huskies in front of you is a charm like no other.
