Salt Flats Amidst the Andes

On the way to Machu Picchu, almost every traveller stops at the Sacred Valley for a few hours or days. Here one should make it a point to visit Maras & Moray, which give you a chance to experience symmetrical terraced platforms just like the Incas left it and the Maras salt flats atop 9,000 ft. The drive to these two sights is extremely picturesque, and is definitely a different take as compared to the regular attractions in the Sacred Valley. The salt flats can be experienced from atop, allowing for a birds eye view or one can walk through them for a closer look at the different colored salt wells.
