Experience 22 drawbridges being pulled to allow water traffic through along the Neva River in St. Petersburg. every night from April to November. St. Petersburg, Russia is modeled similar to Venice and Amsterdam and has to lift these bridges at night to allows boats to pass in and out of the Baltic Sea. There are various night ferries that offer this magical experience. The city of St. Petersburg enhances this experience by lighting up all the buildings along the river, including the Hermitage museum, various government and parliamentary buildings, and cathedrals. Depsite being a Russian city, St.Petersburg offers a European charm and while visiting the other touristy spots, I highly recommend this night cruise while enjoying a warm hot chocolate atop an open top ferry boat that along with 50 odd other tourist boats stops to enjoy the experience the opening of the bridges in its full glory.
